Welcome to Kingston Carnival 2010!
Sunday 5th September sees Kingston come alive with the sounds of Carnival. It’s a great day out for all the family – with a colourful procession, free music and entertainment, dedicated children’s area, fantastic food and lots more.
Head to the Market Place and High Street for a day filled with fun for all the family.
Get into your most colourful clothes and join us! Join in the procession, dance along to the music, try the international foods - but most of all - Have Fun and Enjoy!

Carnival Procession -
Procession starting at 12.00noon from the Guildhall through Eden Street along Clarence Street, into Market Place and finishing at the Guildhall. Anyone wishing to participate in procession is welcome; visit: www.kingstonrec.org or tel: 020 8547 2332 for more information; etc
13:15 – Official opening of Kingston Carnival by the Mayor of Kingston, Cllr Chrissie Hitchcock, Alan Garcia of Sunshine World plus special guests.
Colin Bloxam Stage –
1:30 – 2:00: Band Elastique
2:05 – 2:30: Mexican Group
2:35 – 3:05: Ghanain Youths
3:10 – 3:30:
3:35 – 4:00: Elimu
4:05 – 4:25: Eirete – Paraguyan Group
4:30 – 4:45: Morenada Bloque Kantuta
4:50 – 5:00: Semillas De Bolivia
MarketPlace Stage –
1pm – 6pm
The Community Stage bringing music and dance from the local rich diverse community groups and some 'Mind-blowing ' Bollywood Extravaganza, Bollywood Workshops and a very very special Bollywood programme Jay Kumar and his Bollywood students fresh from the 'Gunnesbury Mela' and other surprise guests.
Also, an amazing dhol performance by the very talented ‘Dholsquad’.
Among the Community Groups will include Chinesewise School, Kingston Chinese Association, Falun Gong, Milaap Day Centre, Saheli Organisation, The Art of Living, Global Arts , Legacy Acadamy, Kingston Guru Dwara, Sarvoday Hindu Association, Hindi Bal Bhavan School, Kingston Upon Thames Gujarati School, Institute Of Tamil Culture, Sarvoday Youth Association and Kingston Youth Association.
Street Theatre –
Bringing a real sense of South America in the form of Capoeira artists, Zumba dancers, entertainers, street performers and much more all around the Town Centre. Come and get involved!
Rose Carnival Café –
The Rose theatre’s Cultural Café becomes Carnival Café for the day! The Café will play host to lots of local amateur talent. Think open mic meets talent show. If you fancy yourself a bit of star, come and show us in person!
Memorial Gardens -
Memorial Gardens will play host to a dedicated children's area with lots of fun games and activities for the little ones. A Police Marquee will also be present providing information and freebies!
All Saints Church -
The garden of All Saint's Church will have rides and inflatables for children to enjoy including a bungee trampoline and a bouncy castle!
